Body Topology
Just about it
I find it really great for the body topology to be grid-based
(With somewhat equal distance lining)
It's important to have a proper edge flow when creating characters.
Together with ''Stars'' and ''Directions'' in proper places, such body topology is
great to animate (as in the images ''Stars'' and ''Directions'' are placed to not disturb/misplace the mesh while bending and such).
Give it a try.
